Abbey Hernandez is the Middle School Language Arts Learning Specialist. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Education, Abbey taught for a decade in the Houston Independent School District before arriving at Gateway in 2022. 

She is passionate about catering to all learning styles with an emphasis on project-based learning and utilizing interactive teaching tools. Abbey strives to expose students to books and texts they’ve never read before and to help them grow a genuine love of reading. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and creating fonts.
