Mrs. Abercia is the culinary teacher at Gateway. She guides students from mastering basic kitchen skills to being able to prepare full meals independently. Culinary class with Mrs. Abercia is not just about learning how to cook; it also emphasizes communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and independence.

Before joining Gateway, Mrs. Abercia taught Pre-K and Elementary levels and served as a finance manager for a Middle School for several years. She has always worked in schools and has a passion for education.

Mrs. Abercia loves being the chef at Gateway and is actively exploring additional learning opportunities in the culinary field to bring even more skills and knowledge to her students.

Outside of Gateway, Mrs. Abercia enjoys spending time with her kids, visiting friends, attending sporting events and movies, or relaxing at home with a good book.
