Taylar Gutierrez, PsyD, LPC - Counselor
Dr. Taylar Gutierrez is a licensed professional counselor specializing in working with adolescents and their families. Though originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she completed all of her graduate training in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Gutierrez earned both her Master’s in International Disaster Psychology and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver. Her doctoral work emphasized trauma-informed care across a wide range of settings, including educational institutions and community clinics.
Dr. Gutierrez brings a warm, collaborative, and developmentally grounded approach to supporting students. She has specialized training in working with parents and caregivers, including experience with Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and holds a strong belief in the power of family systems to support healing and growth. Dr. Gutierrez is especially passionate about helping students navigate identity development, attachment, emotional regulation, and relationship challenges. Her work is grounded in multicultural awareness, neurodiversity-affirming practices, and a deep respect for each student's lived experience. In addition to therapy, she has experience administering and interpreting psychological assessments for both children and adults.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Gutierrez is a proud dog mom to Wally (a very spoiled goldendoodle) and she shares life with her husband. Together, they love exploring new places, whether that means heading to the movie theater, trying new food abroad, or simply planning their next travel adventure.
